Craig Kent, CEO of UVA Health CEO, withdraws after internal examination of the health system

Charlettesville, va. (Wvir) – After five years in the position, the UVA Health CEO and Executive Vice President for Health Affairs Craig Kent resigns.

Kent was in hot water for the first time in September when 128 Faculty members of UVA Health in him and the UVA school of Medicine Dean Dr. Melina Kibbe signed.

The anonymous accusations wrote that the two transformed an award -winning hospital into a nightmare.

The alleged violations included an endangered patient safety, the application of inappropriate pressure on the faculty, the circumvention of patient safety and the careless attitude of non -qualified doctors.

At that time, Kent and Kibbe stated a little answer and wrote in a joint explanation that they had undertaken to understand the concerns.

President Jim Ryan expressed his thoughts and then published his own statement, in which the letter discouraged with little details and had not supported Kent or Kibbe.

“At this point it is difficult for me to believe that the correct answer here is to force a further change in the leadership just to contribute a new leaders Ryan in September.

After the publication of the letter, the University of Virginia commissioned an international law firm to examine the claims.

It was the result of this investigation by the UVA visitor advertisement on Tuesday, February 25th,.

The details of these internal examinations have not been announced.

Kent resigned after the meeting.

According to the UVA spokesman Bethanie Glover, Kent offered his resignation and President Ryan accepted.

Doctor Mitch Rosner, nephrologist at Uva Health. will serve as a reigning Executive Vice President for Health Affairs.

On Tuesday evening, a spokesman for Uva Health said that it would not make any additional comments.
