Criminal judicial professor weighs Damien McDaniel case

Birmingham, ala. (Wbrc) – The local criminal justice professor Jeff Walker said that Damian McDaniel's case was unusual, but not unusual.

Early this week, The Birmingham police announced additional charges Against McDaniel, who connects him to 14 murders in the city of Birmingham.

Walker said it was unusual to see how someone is connected to so many cases in such a short time, but it is not unusual. He said that growing cities often go through a violent time.

“Nowadays, it is unusual in the smaller cities to have someone who has so many shootings that they are accused,” said Walker.

Walker said that it is a sign that the investigators were added to the allegations against McDaniel months after his arrest after his arrest of McDaniel months after his arrest.

“When you see how it plays when he was arrested in the crimes of these charges and similar things, it is not unusual for police work,” said Walker.

He said to investigators that it takes time for information to be published, and McDaniel could have been a missing piece in many cases.

“Sometimes you have two thirds of a case and need a small information and then an arrest or something, and that then fills the rest of these missing parts,” said Walker.
