Dave Roberts, Dodgers, who proceed on a contract on a record contract

The long -awaited contract extension for Dodger's manager Dave Roberts is approaching the completion. According to Joel Sherman in the New York Post and Fabian Ardaya at The Athletic, Roberts and the team make progress in a record contract that could happen in the coming days.

Sherman reported that a Roberts expansion “is expected to exceed and complete the manager's annual value ceremony before the team leaves on Wednesday to open the season in Tokyo.”

Ardaya also reported that the contract is expected to be record-breaking and that “the two-time World Series-based manager will largely agree to a new deal before the team will increase on Wednesday”.

The last game of the Dodgers in the schedule of the Cactus League takes place on Tuesday afternoon on the Camelback Ranch. The next morning the team will leave Japan for a number of games in the Tokyo Dome, including the exhibition games against the Hanshin Tigers and Yomiuri Giants before playing the Cubs for two regular season games on March 18.

Roberts joins the last season of his three-year contract, which will pay him $ 4 million in 2025. His new contract will be more than double if a record is set. Before the 2024 season, Craig Consell signed a contract for $ 40 million with the CUBs as Free Agent of $ 8 million a year.

In July, Red Sox manager Alex Cora signed an extension worth three years, 21.75 million US dollars and an annual average of $ 7.25 million.

Roberts and the Front Office kept pretty much all outside of the season and in a spring training that a contract extension was the preferred result for Roberts, who won four pennants and two titles in his nine seasons at the top in Los Angeles.

“Hopefully everything takes care of yourself. But it's about value,” said Robert's early February about Buster Olney at ESPN. “I just love this organization, but yes, you want to feel your value absolutely.”

This value will apparently be of the variety to record records.
