Day 2025 for rare diseases: Imagine more for the rare disease community

Every day, millions of people around the world face the immense challenges of living with a rare illness. Resilience is of essential importance for these people and their families and hope becomes a lifeline. The day of rare disease is a moment to honor your courage, to strengthen your voices and to reaffirm our common vision of a future that is filled with possibilities that go beyond what is possible by a rare illness.

This year we use the topic for rare diseases “more than you can imagine” as a call for action for patients, nurses, lawyers, members of the health professions, political decision -makers and industry alike. It serves as a strong memory of what is possible when we work together to convert the imagination into action.

Rarely disease day is led globally by EURORDIS and supported by countless other organizations. It serves as an important platform to judge the community for rare diseases and at the same time promote awareness and collective measures. Your efforts remind us of the importance of cooperation – not only on this day, but all year round.

At the center of this year's activities is the collective vision of what we can achieve when we are united through common purposes. Ipsen employees, inspired by the resistance and determination of those who live with rare diseases, came together to share their hopes and dreams for the community. Their perspectives reflect the common conviction that the presentation of more is a retail trade – it is a collaboration that is driven by everyone who is devoted to the relationship of a difference.

The challenges in rare disease care remain significant. Delayed diagnoses, differences in access and obstacles to support continue to influence patients around the world. Removal of these problems requires more than innovation. It requires partnerships, advocacy and a deep understanding of the needs of the community. By working with patients, families and lawyers, we strive to ensure that your voices shape the future of rare disease.

The day of rare illness reminds us of the extraordinary potential that we have to do something. It is an opportunity not only to concentrate on what is possible today, but also on what we can achieve tomorrow. Together with the community of rare diseases, we can imagine and create – a future full of opportunities that we go beyond everything we can currently imagine.

Because if we imagine more, we can achieve more – not only for the few, but for everyone who is affected by rare diseases.
