Deadly shooting shocked, quietly east el Paso district

El Paso, Texas – a fatal shootout in Far East El Paso at the weekend shocked the residents because a man was killed and another in what the neighbors describe as an unusual act of violence for their typically calm community.

Andres Marquez, a neighbor, said: “I've lived here for a while, this is a big shock, nothing of the sort has happened yet. At the end of the day it is somehow scary, you know at the end of the day.”

The incident occurred on Saturday around midnight when the police reacted to reports on shots that were fired near Marquez 'house. On arrival, the officials found a man with gunshot wounds who died later. A second victim, which was assumed to be connected to the shootout, was transported to a hospital himself.

Marquez told the chaotic scene and said: “We went outside to see what happened to the rest of the neighbors, and yes, PD came in a few minutes later that they tried to bring them at their side.”

Preliminary investigations suggest that an argument escalated during a meeting in a house in the downfall of Sun Road. Neighbors, including Marquez, gathered outside when the police reacted to the emergency.

“Yes, I have the feeling that this is like a separate incident, I don't really think that this will be a common thing, I'm not afraid for the future, I know I just have the feeling that this was only an unfortunate situation that happened,” said Marquez.

The police have not published any information about a suspect or arrest. The investigators continue to meet the events of this night and the block remains complete while the examination develops.
