Delaware County, Pennsylvania, EMS and Fire, to get from the state for $ 1 million

(TNS) -In Delaware County, 52 fire services and departments and 17 providers of emergency services receive more than 1 million US dollars from the state for the provision of this frontline services for residents.

The allocation of Delaware County was part of a financing of 37 million US dollars for more than 2,500 fire brigades and emergency services in Pennsylvania as part of the Commonwealth Fire Company and Retting Medical Services Grant Program.

This financing is intended to support the equipment purchases, training courses, furnishing upgrades and other operating costs.

“Our firefighters and EMS employees selflessly devote themselves to the security of our communities, often with limited resources,” said the fire brigade commissioner Thomas Cook. “This financing is proof of the commitment of the Shapiro administration to ensure that fire service companies and EMS agencies – both career and volunteers – have the tools they need to do their work effectively and safely.”

Officials chosen on site talked about what this financing will mean for the first providers in their neighborhoods.

“These grants are decisive investments in the security of our communities,” said Senator Tim Kearney, D-26, from Swarthhoren. “Our firefighters and EMS staff devote their lives to protect us and often put themselves in danger. By securing this financing, we ensure that you have resources that are necessary to effectively react in emergencies, to improve your services and to protect our residents. “

“This financing offers important resources to support our first aiders,” said the Rep. Craig Williams, R-160, from Chadds Ford. “Our staff from Feuer and EMS have jeopardized their lives to protect our communities, and these subsidies will help to reduce the financial pressure on these organizations. I am grateful for the commitment of our first aiders and will continue to support the efforts to strengthen the emergency services in our district.

He explained to his voters that this financing actually comes from the proceeds from slot machine games, not from Pennsylvania's General Fund, which was driven by tax revenue. In addition, he explained that this subsidy program is managed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the office of the state fire brigade commissioner.

Companies can use these dollars for the construction or renovation of an establishment of the fire or ambulance company, purchase or repair of equipment, training, setting and storage, public education through fire protection and reduction of existing debts

Williams said that all companies who advertise and meet the requirements described by OSFC will receive funds.

“I am pleased that the Shapiro administration continues to support our first aiders,” said State Rep. Gina Curry, D-164, by Upper Darby. “This financing will help our fire brigade companies with their greatest needs. I endeavor to receive our local departments the financing you need to provide the best services. “

“This financing will help to provide essential resources, update devices and to support the brave first aiders who modest us every day,” said State Rep. Jennifer O'Mara, D-165, from Springfield. “A big thank you to our local firefighters for their commitment and service!”

“Congratulations to these hard-working first aiders who protect our communities in view of the danger,” said MP Leanne Krueger, D-161, from Nether Providence. “Fire and EMS companies offer essential life-saving services and earn every cent of this financing. I am happy to work with our local companies to recognize these financing options so that they can continue to protect our needs. “
