Desantis announces the doke -task Force to reduce government waste in Florida

Tampa, Florida – Governor Ron Desantis announced a task force in Florida Doge on Monday, which aims to reduce state waste in the state.

In a press conference in Tampa, Desantis said that the new task force would help to rationalize the government and “remove unnecessary bureaucracy” to ensure that tax money is used efficiently.

Desantis praised the Ministry of State Efficiency in Washington led by Elon Musk and claimed that Florida was already on a similar route.

“We were Doge before Doge was cool,” said Desantis.

“A state task force that implements a multi -stage approach to the elimination of bureaucratic flatulence and the modernization of our state government to best serve people in Florida in the coming years,” he added.

Desantis would like to remove 740 positions of the state government, but also add positions in other state authorities that need more employees such as the Department of Corrections and Florida Highway Patrol.

The governor said that the Task Force would check over 70 state bodies and commissions to possibly remove them. He hopes that the task force will eliminate 900 positions in addition to the 740 positions that it originally suggests for cutting.

“Many people have never heard of one of these things, but they are there,” said Desantis. Relevant whether it overlaps with other boards or authorities, whether it is out of date over time, and there are some that actually fulfill their purpose. “
