District 9-6a basketball teams published

The basketball championships of the UIL State, which took place last week in the alamodome in San Antonio, officially marked the end of the 2024-25 season.

It was a successful season for many teams in the Northeast Collin County.

The team of boys and girls in Sachse, Wylie and Wylie East made the playoffs. The guys from Wylie East made it into the third round for the second season in a row, while the Wylie Boys conquered their third 9-6A title in a row.

Her success was not unnoticed.

The game and evaluation of Wylie East Senior Point Guard Parker Overstreet brought him District 9-6a MVP.

The Wylie East Boys had a total of five all distribution performance. In addition to Overstreet, head coach Kortney Smith was called the co-coach of the year in the second year of the district in the second year of the district, as was Wylie head coach Stephen Pearce. Senior Guard Tommy Mayberry was added to the second team, while the Seniors Dezmond Thompson and Emmanuel Chemirmir won the team of honor of the honorary mention team.

Wylies Boys had a total of six selections in the All-9-6A team. Senior Guard Isaiah Shurn was included in the first team. Senior Tosin Aiyejuto was added to the second team, while the seniors Tommy Johnson and TJ Leonard were the selection of honorary mentation.

Wylie Easts girls also had a superlative winner. Senior Guard Saliz Ward was honored with offensive players of the year after achieving an average of 14.1 points per game, including a 32-point excursion in a 58:50 win for the Lady Raiders on Garland on January 31.

Ward was one of five Lady Raiders, who cracked the All District team together with the second striker Morgan Jennings, who was called Junior Guard Sidney Sanders, the second team and Senior Angela Kenfack and Junior Addison Young, who were both honorable team selection.

Wylie Easts Crosstown-Rival Wylie had four female players earn their way in the all-9-6A team.

The second point Guard Shamya Johnson was brought to the first team after led a young but talented Lady Pirate team into one season with 19 wins and a second-placed by BI distribution. The second striker Ronelys Hartfield and the senior Micha Lovelace have taken up places in the second team. Another senior, Zamorah Parker, was an honorable mention team.
