Djokovic healthy in front of BNP, viral video 'to see' cumbersome

Indian Wells, California – Novak Djokovic said before the BNP Paribas Open that he is healthy and that the viral video of him hobbled to the airport in Doha after the tournament last month, who forced him to withdraw from his Australian Open half -final game in January.

“It was really, yes, unpleasant to see this video because I got to the airport and I struggled very badly when I went out, because it was very early, I think 4 or 5 o'clock, I only limp because I hit my ankle badly,” said Djokovic, the tournament No. 6, Saatgut. “It's all. It was just a goal. It was nothing else. But then people connected it to the injury and thought it was something escalating and came back.

“But I still feel good. I am really looking forward to coming in Indian Wells and Miami this year. I will play the Sunshine Double Danle for the first time, I think six years.”

The 37-year-old Djokovic lost to Matteo Berrettini in his first tour in Doha and worried after the airport video was released on social media. He hasn't played since then. After a good in the first round, he is to open in Indian Wells on Saturday against the winner of the game between Botic van de Zandschulp and Nick Kyrgios, which Djokovic defeated Wimbledon final in 2022.

Djokovic is a five-time champion at the BNP Paribas Open, most recently in 2016, and looking for his 100th ATP title. He would only become the third man who joined Jimmy Connors and Roger Federer. While he won in Paris Olympia -Gold last summer, the Serbian star has not won a touring title since 2023 and at times openly struggled with motivation – but he was enthusiastic about playing the double events in the United States this month.

“Unlike slams, [there are] Only a few tournaments that really give me inspiration when I wake up in the morning and think about where I want to do well, “said Djokovic.” Indian Wells and Miami are definitely at the top of this list. “

He added that he was excited to obtain the former rival at his side for both events at his side, and said that the two would speak to Miami and make sure they wanted to work together.

“I was very happy when he decided to continue, Indian Wells, Miami and yes, most of the Clay Court season,” said Djokovic. “… I think the plan is to go from Roland Garros until the end of Roland, I think, and yes, hopefully also Wimbledon.”
