“Do not download, look at all applications …”

Chinas Deepseek plays the national security alarm: “Do not download, see you to apply …”

According to reports, the US trade department has been prohibited from the Chinese model for artificial intelligence Deepseek on government devices.

What happened: In the past few weeks, several offices of the US Ministry of Trade have published internal communication warning staff not to use Deepseek Ki for state-performed devices, also known as GFE, Reuters, citing a message and two people familiar with the matter.

“In order to keep the information systems of the Ministry of Commerce secure, access to the new Chinese AI Deepseek is largely prohibited throughout the GFE,” said a department wide email. “Do not download, look at all applications, desktop apps or websites that refer to Deepseek.”

Trying: 'Scroll to Ubi'-Deloitte's No. 1 The fastest growing software company enables users to make money for their telephones. You can invest today for only 0.26 USD/share with a minimum of USD 1000.

It remains unclear how widespread the ban is in other parts of the US government.

Why it is important: The move follows the rising alarm about the potential risks that Chinese AI tools are based on sensitive government data.

In January, Deepseek's publication solved due to its inexpensive skills and potential to challenge the dominance of the United States.

Several states, including Virginia, Texas and New York, have already implemented bans for the use of Deepseek for government devices, the report said.

A coalition of 21 General Prosecutors has also asked Congress to adopt the federal legislation that the model receives.

In February Taiwan also banned Deepseek Ai. Similarly, South Korea and Italy have stopped new downloads from the app due to data protection issues.
