Do patriots have the chance to land Star WR? – NBC Sports Boston

Tea Higgins may be off the table for the New England Patriots, but another star wide recipient has joined their list of potential leisure goals.

The New York Jets released the veteran Davante Adams on Tuesday and probably made the six-time Pro-Bowler number 1 wideout on the free agent market. While he costs a pretty penny, the patriots enter the off -season with a wealth of space for salary tops and a desperate need to improve their recipient room.

So is it a realistic way to sign Adams? Albert Breer from MMQB shared an insight on Tuesday Early editionAnd it sounds like Pats fans shouldn't have their hopes in hand.

“I don't think it would be at the top of his list, no,” said Breer. “I mean, they look at how things for Josh McDaniels ended in Vegas. I think that's a question. Wherever Aaron Rodgers goes, in my opinion I would of course be a way that the giants could be. And I think Aaron Rodgers will probably take less where he lands.

“And then you have to remember the reason why (Adams) wanted Green Bay at all because he approached and wanted to get closer to where he grew up in California, and he had the house in Vegas. So I don't think it would be close to his list of priorities.

Breer further noticed that during the term of office of Adams' Raidersamt season, some believed in the organization that there were times when he was selfish and there were times when he was driven by money. “He wonders whether Adams and his strong contract would fit the right Pats head coach Mike Vrabel, who hopes to build up a team-first culture in Foxboro.

“Anyone with whom I spoke to Mike Vrabel at Tennessee or trained with them says it takes a certain player to play in their surroundings,” said Breer. “And if you step in immediately and make a man the highest paid player in your team, who think that Vrabel is very aware of whoever is my first draft pick, the first I pay, the rest of the changing room will say and 'This is what you represent.' I think that's an important nuance for this whole thing.

The Patriots insider from NBC Sports Boston, Tom E. Curran, believes that Adams is the best available recipient option. Even if the likelihood that Adams New England has chosen the next goal is slim, it would be Vrabel and Co. to at least strive to combine him with the valuable young quarterback Drake Maye.

“I think tea highgins would be more difficult than Davante Adams,” said Curran. “I mean, you know what Davante Adams is. He has a proven track record of an excellent game, he is not a dink, he is a high -ranking player.

“The question at the beginning was: 'Is it a possibility?' It is not a probability, but the patriots have a shot if they want to do it.
