The Download Festival has confirmed that the 2025 edition “Several Secrets” will take place.

The Metal Festival will return to Donington Park in Leicestershire between June 13th and 15th and mark the 22nd rate this year. Green Day, Sleep token and grain will appear as headliners

Now, in the latest newsletter, the organizers have announced that some surprises are planned for this year, including “multiple” unexpected services that are already in the works.

The update takes place in the form of a new graphic that was shared in the update, in which a man read a newspaper in which the heading “several secrets for the download XXII were confirmed”. At the time of writing, little is known about how many surprise appearances are planned, and which artists may be the most likely on stage.

Secret sets are by no means a new addition to the Donnington Festival. In the past, fans were unprepared for unexpected appearances by Enter Shikari, Black Stone Cherry, Bullet for my Valentine's Day and even Metallica. The Thrash symbols surprised the Punters with a show at the first download in 2003.

Last year, the organizers of the festival confirmed another secret appearance in the 2024 edition, and this later turned out to be a Parkway Drive, who visited the intimate Dogtooth stage for a surprising appearance.

The first wave of artists – including all three headliners – was announced at the end of 2024, and others that are included in the first calculation were Weezer, sex pistols with Frank Carter, Jimmy Eat World, Poppy, Loathe, Jerry Cantrell, McFly within the temptation, Eagles of darkness, spirit box, Meshuggah, Stahlpanther, Stahlpanther, Steel panchher, steel panchher, scratch and Meshuggah, Meshuggah, Stahlpanther.

Another batch of artists who join the 2025 line-up was confirmed last month with new names, including deputy, hatebreed, children in glass houses, Opeth, Myles Kennedy, Shinedown, Awolnation, Power Trip, Palaye Royale, Municipal Waste, Cross Faith and more.

Only days later, the organizers shared the day with the Green Day, Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, the promotion against Boston Manor, McFly, Opeth and Myles Kennedy for the opening evening.

Sleep token will be the second day alongside sets from the dark, shinedown, poppy seeds, sex pistols with Frank Carter, Cradle of Dreck and more, and the last day is closed by Korn, Meshuggah, SpiritBox, Bullet for my Valentine's Day, Jerry Cantrell and others.

At the end of last year, the festival organizer Andy Copping spoke in a new interview with NME and opened up about the importance of a platform for new talents. “I've always wanted it and you can see how we developed the other phases like the Dogtooth stage and the avalanche,” he said.

“For us it is about giving the bands the opportunity to grow. We have the platform and we want a message to these boys such as follow and play. We believe in you and you have a great opportunity here. 'Fortunately, these bands rise for the most part and deliver. “

In 2024 the download of Queens of the Stone Age, Fall Out Boy and Avenged Sevenfold and was listed, and was led by Queens of the Stone Age and seven times and Nme Gave him four stars and wrote: “At first glance, the download in 2024 seemed through a number of factors that could have signaled his demise-self-festival boss Andy Copping admitted that it was the” most difficult year “to secure a line-up, and the team approached '21 bands' to find headliners.

“Combine this with the risk of a boycott in retribution measures against sponsorship of barclays and the news that this year the wet could be in a century, and the hopes that it came out smoothly fluctuated. Against the opportunities, however, the festival delivers one of the most promising expenses in recent times and proves that it is one of the most important events that have the opportunity to create opportunities for the next generation of headliners. “
