Here is a current AP story about College basketball:

Auburn and Duke stay on the AP Top 25. The rest of the survey was a big mess.

Auburn was the unanimous election in the second week in a row in 1st place and received all 61 votes from a media committee in the survey published on Monday. The Tiger held the top place for the eighth week in a row after they had one-sided victories against Ole Miss and then. 17 Kentucky.

Duke was number 2 in the second week in a row after blown out Miami and Florida State, even though he played Tyrese Proctor due to a bone blue in his left knee.

No. 3 Houston rose a place after defeating Texas Tech and Cincinnati, while Tennessee after Jahmai Mashack's last 3 pointer from Well Beyond Half over the half-court with 79-76.

Florida rounded off the top 5 and dropped two places after he lost to Georgia and defeated Texas A&M.

No. 8, Michigan State, came Auburn and Duke as the only team that had the same ranking as last week.

Increasing red storm

St. Johns achieved the turnaround in his second season under coach Rick Pitino.

The Red Storm (26-4, 17-2Big East) has not been at the NCAA tournament since 2019, but is pretty much a castle to end the drought after winning her first Big East title in the regular season for 40 years with the 71: 61 victory against Seton Hall.

“We're just starting,” Pitino told Madison Square Garden Crowd after the victory.

St. Johns also defeated Butler last week and rose to 6th place in the survey of this week, the highest ranking in 1990-91.

In and out

No teams have moved into the survey of this week.

Ascent and traps

No. 14 Louisville took the biggest step of the week and took five places after winning Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh. No. 13 Maryland rose three places after losing against Tre Holloman's last second against the mid-court and Penn State against Michigan State against Tre Holloman.

No. 22 Texas A&M had by far the greatest decline that had lost 10 places after they lost to Vanderbilt and Florida and extended his defeat to four.

No other team has more than two places.

Conference

The SEC continued its dominance with three of the five and eight top 25 this week. The BIG 12 have three teams in the top 10 and five ranking teams, while the Big Ten also had five teams in the survey. The ACC has three, the Big East Two and the American and West Coast Conferences have a rank team.
