Dunwoody head coach Michael Nash resigned after 10 years

After 10 years as head coach of the Dunwoody High School, coach Michael Nash resigns. Nash also serves as a sports director for the wildcats and has trained several sports at school.

The last three years have been the best of Nash's term. During this time, the wildcats went 19-15 and exceeded their opponents in all three seasons, which the program had not achieved since 2011. They also made the playoffs in both 2023 and 2024 and marked their first post-season appearances since 2009.

Coach Nash primarily brought the program stability. From 2008 to 2015, the wildcats drove through four different head coaches. While Nash took almost a decade to get the program back on the right track, he made the urgently needed structure available. His leadership made it possible for the players to know what they expect from season to season and caused consistency and growth in recent years.

Dunwoody is a famous program that was one of the top teams in the state in the nineties. From 1991 to 1998 the Wildcats took the playoffs six times and won 11 post -season games, including the 4a State Championship 1993. From 2006 to 2009 they experienced another strong era and made three playoff appearances, including a quarter -finals in 2008.

The 2024 record from Wildcats from 4-7 is misleading. Dunwoody only suffered two defeats in the regular season by more than 14 points, one in week 2 against Pope and one at the multi -year Powerhouse Woodward Academy. Two of their losses to Tri-Cities and Lakeside Atlanta were decided by four points. The wildcats ended the season strongly and won three of their last four games. The crime was brought to life during this route and scored at least 35 points in each of these competitions, three of the only four times that they reached through this brand all season.

Dunwoody's next head coach will inherit a program with a proud tradition. The wildcats compete in a manageable region with Woodward Academy as the only traditional power pack. The search for a new trainer starts immediately, and the position is expected to attract a strong pool of applicants.
