Durham, NC (WTVD) – A large brush fire broke out in Durham on Saturday afternoon.

It happened in the 4400 block of Erwin Road between Mount Sinai Road and Cornwallis Road. This part of the street is currently closed, said the Durham police.

A neighbor told Eyewitness News that a transformer set off and started the ground. The fire brigade flows leaves and cuts trees to prevent them from it.

Hundreds of customers are without electricity in this area, according to the Duke Energy power failure card.
