DVIDS – Nachrichten – Usag Bayern -Ups -Verchutz during the two -day exercise

Tower Barracks, Germany-Die Garrison Bayern of the US Army, on February 24th and 25th, successfully carried out his annual exercise of strength protection in the installations in Grafenwöhr, Vilseck, Hohenfels and Garmisch-Partnerkirchen.

The two -day exercise was developed to evaluate the operational readiness and improved security measures by simulating realistic threat scenarios.

Usag Bayern regularly retains precautionary measures for strength protection exercises to prepare the garrison staff to react to such potential threats.

During the exercise, the strength protection state was increased and caused procedural changes such as vehicle inspections, troop redirections and increased access control measures.

“Thank you for your patience and teamwork to make our FPCON exercise a resounding success in the past two days,” said Col. Stephen C. Flanagan, commander of Usag Bavaria. “We would particularly like to thank ourselves, the 2nd cavalry regiment, the 41st field artillery, the 173rd brigade, the common multinational standby center, the 18th fighting battalion of the 18th struggle for post -keep and the 15th engineering battalion for their support for the troops, to achieve all FPCON targets before the process.”

All locations of the US Army in Europe have run the US Army Europe and African armed forces. After the USAG Bavaria completed its exercise on February 25, the European armed forces protection phase has successfully ended in Germany.

While the exercise was designed for five days, all targets were completed within a period of two days.

“This exercise included a large group of personnel who communicated and worked for a common thing for a short period of time, which is not an easy process,” said Ben Torres, specialist for USAG Bavaria. “We had the entire team participation of the soldier, who carried out the wake -up for the representatives of the Installation Operation Center, which updates our common operating picture in the night shift.”

Torres also commented on the excellent teamwork during the exercise.
