Eagles record first win of the season against Warriors

Lewiston, ID – EWU (1-9) secured their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory against Lewis and Clark State (3-5).

EWU Tennis and Lewis Clark State met for the 30th time, with the Eagles switching against the Warriors on 14-16 ever. Eastern has now won the last nine sessions.

With the victory, the Eagles recorded their first victory since the 2023 season when they defeated William Jessup in Rocklin, California, 6-1.

In doubles, Eastern would perform the same line -up for the fourth game in a row. However, the Warriors would win the colon and win two of the three dual games.

Easterns No. 1 -Doppel -Match from Tyler Dalos/Caden Kammerer Would go away. The warriors were able to get a narrow 7-6 (13-11) victory over the Eagles.

In doubles No. 2, double, Tyler Waddock/Drew Dillon Pulled out the victory over Gautam Balakrishnan/Nell Rollin 6-4. The duo would win his second double dual match of the season, with Waddock winning the sixth of his career and deserving his 14th double dual match of his career.

No. 3 doubles Arshjot Bhatti/Brady Thomas Alvaro Camino/Austin could not defeat the Warriors because they would fall 6-1.

For singles, the Eagles would do the same list as the whole season. Tyler Waddock would represent the eagle in position no. 1. Waddock drove to a 6-1 win and grind a 7: 5 second set to earn his second singles with two games of the season and the fifth of his career.

Tyler Dalos In the No. 2 singles position, a close first set won 7: 5, but was able to dominate 6-0 in the second set and won his first singles dual match victory of the season. This would be the sixth singles victory for Dalos.

Drew Dillon Would win a three-set singles in position no. 3 in position 6-3, 4-6 and 6-4. With the victory, Dillon recorded the second win of the season and the ninth of his career.

Caden Kammerer would represent the Eagles in position No. 4. Kammerer could win his sets 6-2 and 6: 4 for his third singles dual match win of the season and the seventh of his Eagle career.

In position no. 5, Arshjot Bhatti Would win the first set 6-3. In the second, after 1-0, Bhatti fell three games in a row to take the 3-1 lead. Gautam Balakrishnan would react and win four games in a row. Bhatti would be able to answer the call again and win four in a row, but Balakrishnan would win you back and make it 6-6. However, Bhatti fell in a wild second set, with Gautam Balakrishnan 7-6 (7-3) winning. Bhatti won 1-0 (10: 6) in the Tiebreaker to complete a very competitive match and to secure his second victory of the season and the fourth of his career.

Next on

The Eagles will only minimally rest before tomorrow's game against Whitman College. Eastern will face the blues in Walla Walla and the match starts at 3 p.m.
