Sheffield United striker Tyrese Campbell said he would like to pay back the belief that the club has shown in him.

The 25-year-old joined the blades in August as Free Agent after leaving Stoke City at the end of last season.

He scored the winner in the reverse game in November and was in each of his last three appearances.

“I had a stop start season last season and didn't manage to play so many games. I am only grateful that you had the chance to sign me, and I just hope that I can pay you back,” he said to BBC Radio Sheffield.

“The manager was brilliant and gave me a platform to perform what was great because I didn't have a previous season with a team.

“I'm just happy to play and do my thing.”

Campbell said that he had not bought any offers for buying a drink after achieving the only destination in the previous derby this season, but today everything revolves around the points that the blades follow after automatic action.

“The most important thing is that the team gets the three points. It would be nice to score again, but winning the goal is the bigger one,” he said.
