Electric scooters that were released in Manhattan from Saturday morning

Manhattan, Kan. (Wibw) – Electric scooters are now available in the city center of Manhattan and on the K -State campus thanks to a new partnership with VEO, a joint mobility provider.

VEO used a fleet of 400 Astro scooters in the city on Saturday morning.

“VEO will give the residents, students and visitors an affordable and alternative way to avoid our community,” said deputy city manager Jared Wassinger in a press release. “This obligation to provide a micromobility program for the community will offer and improve critical access to the last miles in Manhattan.”

VEO and Manhattan are still working closely to strategically find the best locations and parking hubs for the scooters. They are not mobile on sidewalks.

How to drive:

– Drivers from the age of 18 can locate scooters with the free VEO app

-With the app, drivers then scan a QR code and pay 1 US dollar to unlock the scooter. Drivers pay 0.35 US dollars for every minute in which the scooter is used.

– trips must be ended in a certain location
