Elon University is faced with the Tornado Watch

After an e-alert that was sent at 9:58 a.m. National Weather Service has expanded a tornado watch to expand Alamance County and Elon University. The watch is expected to take until 2 p.m.

A tornado watch shows that the weather conditions for a possible tornado are cheap compared to a tornado warning, which means that a tornado is discovered on radar or strongly specified.

The Tornado clock includes 23 counties in North Carolina From 10:56 a.m. after the NWS. The counties under Tornado Watch include the counties Alamance, Chatham and Durham.

According to an e -mail from Vice President of Student Life, Jon Dooley sent on March 5th during one Previous tornado clockWhen a tornado warning is issued, an e-alert emergency notification is sent out and the sirens are activated outdoors on the main campus of Elon.

When the signals are sounded, it is recommended on the campus to go to one of the following locations:

  • Cellar or ground floor windowless interior
  • Cellar or ground floor windowless wardrobe or bathroom
  • The basement or ground floor inner floor without a window or under a stairwell without a window.

Immediate protection locations can be found on the entire campus Elon's Campus Evacuation -Websites -website. The pupils are emphatically asked to write down immediate accommodation locations throughout the day and to check the emergency posters near stairwells and outputs in every building on campus.
