Emma Raducanu starts with trainer Vladimir Platenik in Indian Wells

Emma Raducanu will start a trial period with the Slovak trainer Vladimir Plateik when she plays her first game in Indian Wells on Thursday.

The 49-year-old trained Lulu Sun when the New Zealand qualification game defeated in the fourth round of Wimbledon Raducanu last July.

Plateik worked with compatriot Dominika Cibulkova when she reached the semi -finals of the French Open in 2009, and also trained the Russians Daria Kasatkina and Veronika Kudermetova.

The coach of the Loughborough Academy, Tom Welsh, agreed to join Raducanu for Indian Wells, but this was charged as a one -off agreement.

Raducanu, who has been without constant coaches since Nick Cavaday for health reasons in January in January, plays in her opened Indian Wells -Match Japans Moyuka Uchijima.

“I don't want to rush into anything, but I'm looking for options and trying to put a try,” said the 22 -year -old Raducanu before the tournament about BBC Sport.

“I believe [advice on] Which tournaments to play and it was very difficult to do everything alone.

“I am this kind of person who needs a plan and needs preparation. I build that up and that feels more comfortable.”

Raducanu has only won one game since Cavaday's departure, but also had to deal with a man who followed her at four tournaments before the Dubai police had given her injunction.
