Enough with “Vision” – Park Record

Why do we need a great vision of expensive means of transport, new hotels that tear down our current parking garage structures of the town hall for transport equipment and put affordable apartments in an existing parking space?

Also drastically change the river of the Main Street? The construction alone would destroy the Main Street companies and further alienate locals to get to Main Street. The city's employees have already spent a lot of time with it and try money to force a large view of the area, and it seems that we do a rabbit hole with information and plans.

At the time of the 2002 Olympic Games, my family lived in Park Avenue. We volunteered to carry out the warming fires in Main Street and also went to many events. It was a great time and very well organized. Temporary buildings such as the Budweiser event were created.

Remember it is the Olympic Games in Salt Lake, and Park City has fewer venues than in the past. Most of the infrastructure is already there and we can change in the course of the future. Don't let us get grandiose.

My family and I have been here for 52 years. We all love Park City and have so many friends. I have a member of the Historic Commission and we both have a member of the Board Historical Society.

We want it to be a good place for our family and community before and after the Olympic Games. We want to preserve Park City and its historical traditions.

Another thing, just an observation and a comment on the main road alliance and the city's employees, who always complain about the loss of the business. I come to Main Street to get my post and go to restaurants and theater. I question a number of business models in the Main Street. For example, the Historic Claim Jumper Hotel has basically been free with a partial art gallery for 15 years.

The historic Rio Grand train station was free and closed for many years. Now there is finally a new restaurant. We have to try. I think Main Street Business Alliance and the city's employees could help promote better business models.

This is my attitude
