Epa encourages the review of water leaks during the 'Leak Week'

Around trillion gallons water are wasted in household leaks every year, and the environmental protection authority tries to contain this number.

The annual leak week of the EPA takes place from March 17th to 23rd. It encourages people to search for water taps and whistles around the house to save water.

In order to promote children for participation in Fix -A -a -lecks, the Florida Governmental Utility Authority Detective Dripfy has introduced the importance of saving water.

The average budget makes up almost 10,000 gallons wasted water per year to fill a back yard in the ground

One drop from a tap per second corresponds to about 3,000 gallons per year, which is sufficient for around 180 showers, according to the EPA. But one of the largest water tenders is the toilet that the EPA can waste more than 200 gallons water per day according to the EPA if they do not work properly.

The agency said it was easy to check for LECKS.

If you put one or two drops of food coloring in the toilet container without rinsing and wait 20 minutes to determine whether the colors change, it is an easy way to check for leaks.

The EPA encourages people to choose products marked with Watersense markings, save water and meet the EPA standards for water efficiency and performance.

To find big leaks, the EPA suggests that families check their monthly water consumption in colder months such as January and February.

If a family of four exceeds 12,000 gallons per month, this is a sign of a serious leak.
