Lucknow: companions or spectators can have an important role in saving life during the Atten from respiratory tractwhere a person cannot breathe properly because of a person Blocked airways. Experts shared this insight during the Amf Airway workshops 2025 at King George's Medical University (KGMU), which took place in cooperation with Airway Management Foundation (AMF).
A respiratory emergency occurs when an obstruction blocks the air pass, which makes it difficult for a person. This can result from SuffocateSwelling, injuries or diseases such as asthma or allergic reactions. If not treated immediately, this can cause brain damage or even death.
The organizing secretary Prof. Premraj Singh said that the first step is to stay calm and call emergency services. If the person is conscious, help them sit upright to improve breathing. If you are passed out, turn them to the side to prevent the suffocation. ”
If an object is visible in the mouth, it should be carefully removed with fingers or a clean cloth. However, fingers should not be inserted deeply, as this can push the object further down. Tipping the head and lifting the chin can help open the airways. If the person suffocates but still coughs, it should be encouraged to continue coughing because this helps to delete the blockade.
In severe cases such as jaw injuries, in which the insertion of a breathing hose is difficult, doctors use fiber -optical bronchoscopy. This technology includes inserting a thin tube with a camera through the nose to extinguish the airways. Modern devices such as video laryngoscopes and high-pressure jet ventilation can quickly deliver oxygen.
KGMU VC Soniya Nityanand previously opened the workshop.
