Extra alarm fire destroys the Bloomington business

Bloomington (25News Now) – Two firefighters received minor injuries after a fire had destroyed a BLOOMINGTON shop overnight.

The Bloomington firefighters were called on Thursday at 9:20 p.m. to 1115 East Lafayette Street – home of the Interstate All Battery Center.

Firefighters arrived a few minutes later and found that smoke came out of the building. They searched for about 20 minutes and found fire in the attic of the bugstring -truß -roof system of the building.

The inherent dangers of this type of construction were recognized – dangers that, according to the department, have led to sudden catastrophic errors and firefighters.

An immediate evacuation was ordered, with a significant part of the roof collapsed within 20 minutes without warning.

40 firefighters fought against the fire with two main flows and four large hardlines that flow around 2,000 gallons water per minute.

The fire was deleted almost 3.5 hours later.

“The training and the decisive actions of our firefighters were decisive to prevent injuries to prevent this challenging incident,” said the deputy head of training Carl Reeb. “The inherent dangers of the bugstring echo construction are well documented, and our crews reacted with professionalism and expertise.”

The department said that extra -charge firefighters were called to the staff reserves to ensure continued reporting for the city. The department said these firefighters answered another 10 9-1-1 calls.
