F1 Bahrain test live updates: Follow the last of the second day of the pre -season in Sakhir

Bahrain International Circuit is embedded in Sakhir in the southern half of the kingdom of the island.

It is desert terrain that represents a problem for the F1 and the other motorsport series – mainly on race weekends when the air and track temperatures drop quickly at night and influence the balance of car and tires.

Sakhir's circuit was the first route of the Middle East on the F1 schedule. The route built on a former camel farm, which was designed by Hermann Tilke, which was designed most modern tracks with long straights.

While the track card may seem uncomplicated, due to a critical factor, there is a lot of space for errors: the sand.

Although the organizers sweep the handy route regularly and even spray an adhesive into the surrounding desert to minimize the sand that moves, they cannot completely eliminate the threat.

The most important facts of the circuit include:

  • Circuit length: 5.41 km (3.36 miles)
  • Lap recording: 1: 31.447 (Pedro de la Rosa, 2005)
  • First GP: 2004
