The Carolina Hurricanes tried to complete a few large offers on the key date, and now we know that they almost landed John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks.

The NHL trade period of 2025 was incredibly eventful for the entire league, but it was the Carolina Hurricanes at the center of everything when they ultimately dabbed the greatest deal, Landing Logan Stankoven and two picks in the first round for star strikers Mikko Rantannen.

It was not long after leakage that the Mitch Marner team followed a lot, but with the Maple Leafs that have a no-trade clause, he used this to switch a blockbuster deal.

Now we know another player that they ended, because it became known that the team tried to land the former all-star goalkeeper John Gibson from the Anaheim Ducks, but obviously you didn't come into play.
