Father continues to seek justice for Tin-YU

On Monday, Tin-Yu's father announced his determination on social media to continue to seek justice for his daughter despite the rejection of the criminal prosecution process.

Today he explained that in October 2023 he made an explanation of the police in the Wan Chai Police Headquarters and expressed his hope to keep the doctor who allegedly modified the medical documents of Tin-YU and pursued a criminal proceedings.

More than a year after his declaration, he received an answer from the police who decided after completing their investigations and consulting the Ministry of Justice in this case not initiating a criminal prosecution.

Tin-Yu's father expressed that he was “extremely disappointed”, but confirmed that he would not give up to seek justice for Tin-Yu.

In 2018 in 2018 in May 2020, Tin-YU was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in the Queen Mary Hospital-a rare type of cancer, which influenced the muscle tissue to remove a tumor. Her parents claimed that mistakes caused a delay in blood transfusion of about 50 minutes during the operation.

Although the revival was successful, Tin-YU suffered severe brain damage due to a longer oxygen withdrawal and has been in a vegetative condition since then.

In October 2023, the family achieved a comparison agreement with the hospital authority in relation to a civil lawsuit. Although Tin-Yu's father reluctantly accepted the agreement, he remained the best option at that time, but he remained determined to apply for responsibility for the alleged change in the medical documents of Tin-YU and pursue criminal proceedings.

The young girl, who has been in a vegetative state due to a medical accident for over three years, died on March 10, 2024.
