Federal workers receive a new e -mail in which their services are requested – 104.5 wokv

Washington – (AP) – Federal Association will receive another e -mail in which you have to explain your recent successes, a new attempt by President Donald Trump and billionaire, entrepreneur Elon Musk to request answers from the state workforce.

The new request was originally expected that the new request on Friday was landed in the inbox of some employees. The plan to send a second e -mail round was initially announced by a person with knowledge of the situation who had asked for anonymity because they were not justified to discuss them publicly.

In the first e -mail that was distributed a week ago, the employees asked “What did you do last week?” And asked them to list five tasks they did. Musk, whose efficiency of the government of Trump was authorized to reduce agencies and to eliminate thousands of federal jobs, said that everyone who did not answer would be released. Meanwhile, many agencies told their workers that they should not react or issue contradictory instructions.

The second e -mail is expected to be delivered in other ways, according to the person with knowledge of the situation, which may make it easier to discipline employees for non -compliance.

Instead of being sent by the Office for Personnel Administration, which acts as a personnel authority for the Federal Government, but does not have the authority to hire or fire, the e -mail from individual agencies should have direct supervision of career officers.

But a version of the E -Mail, which was preserved in two separate agencies on Friday, with the subject line: “What did you do last week? Part II ” – came from” hr@opm.gov “, the same opm address that sent the first version.

“Please respond to this e -mail with about 5 balls that describe what you achieved last week and CC your manager,” said the message and added that the employees would gradually submit an answer after the following Monday at 11:59 p.m.

It is unclear how national security authorities handle the second e -mail. After the first, they pointed out the employees not to write back because a large part of the agencies are sensitive or classified. According to the White House, less than half of the federal workers answered.

The version, which is displayed late Friday by the Associated Press, reads partly: “If all of your activities are classified or sensitive, please write:“ All of my activities are sensitive. “This may not remove all security concerns, since sending an e -mail creates a digital footprint regardless of the content of the message.

A spokesman for OPM did not immediately answer a request for clarification on Friday evening.

On Wednesday, at Trump's first cabinet seats of his second term, Musk argued that his request was a “pulse check” to ensure that those who work for the government have “a pulse and two neurons”.

Both Musk and Trump claim that some workers are either dead or fictional, and the president has publicly supported Musk's approach.

Trump spoke to people who did not respond to the first e -mail and said: “You are in the bladder”, and he added that he was not “enthusiastic” that they did not answer.

“Now there may not be that they do not exist,” he said without providing any evidence. “Maybe we pay people who don't exist.”

In addition to the recent ignition of probation employees, a memo distributed this week landed the prerequisites for large layoffs and the consolidation of programs.

The educational department offered employees a buyout of 25,000 US dollars and warned of impending layoffs. Until the end of Monday, they gave an e -mail that was sent to all agency workers to decide on the offer, which was described as “a very significant reduction in strength”.

It was sent by the Chief Humankapital Officer from the department. The agency has not derived a comment.
