Fire destroys the town house, damages two more in DEKALB County-WSB-TV Channel 2

Dekalb County, GA two neighboring town houses also had fire damage.

“From my window I saw some smoke, came out to see what was going on, white smoke from the block. When we got down here, we saw houses in flames, so we started beating the doors to make sure that everyone was safe, ”said neighbor Chekier Barthley.

The fire started shortly before noon on the second floor of a house on the Shadow Lake Drive. The video camera video shows high -towering flames that photograph from the roof of the town house. The flames sank the siding and the roofs of two neighboring houses.

“We can attribute a large part of this spread to the wind today, very windy day. Also with the dry conditions. That didn't help either, ”Dekalb Fire and Rescue Captain Jaeson Daniels said.

Many neighbors expressed sympathy and concern for the man, whose town house burned at work. He said Channel 2 Action News He recently moved in and rented the place.

He said his landlord never called to tell him about the fire. He says he has lost almost everything he has and has no tenant insurance.

“I can't imagine doing an entire working day and coming home to find out that your entire house is gone. It is rough. We pray for him, ”said Barthley.
