Fire harms the long -time Ensley Flower Shop, firefighters help save arrangements

Birmingham, ala. (WBRC) – A beloved Ensley Flower Shop decreases the pieces after a fire broke down the business on Wednesday afternoon.

Robert & Emma's florist, a staple in the community for almost 40 years, suffered significant damage in the fire. While the full extent of the loss is still unclear, the family of the owner of the store says that the prospects are not good.

After bringing the flames out, Birmingham's firefighters did something unexpected – they hurried to save as many flower arrangements as possible.

Captain Nina Taylor from Birmingham Fire and Rescue knows first -hand, how much Robert & Emma means for the community. After grew up in Ensley, she says that business has been an integral part of the neighborhood for decades. This connection motivated Taylor and her team to help everything to help.

Bryan Williams, the grandson of the owner of the shop, says that his grandparents remain positive despite the devastation. You hope that you can be recovered from the current location.

Your work continues in a small but sensible way. According to Williams, two of the arrangements saved by firefighters will be used in funerals tomorrow.

Firefighters are still working to determine what the fire caused. In the further course of the investigation, the Ensley community behind Robert & Emma's florist gathers in the hope that this long -standing local company can recover.
