Fire in the North Carolina headquarters of the Texas Pete Company “is still being examined”

Winston -Salem, NC (WBTV) – The investigators were not yet sure on Thursday what the headquarters of a food company in North Carolina prompted at the beginning of the week.

On Tuesday, March 4, at around 2:30 a.m., the Garner Foods headquarters in West Fourth Street in downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina, fire. Garner Foods is the company behind Texas Pete Hot Sauce and Green Mountain Gringo Salsa.

The large flame climbed up the side of the two -story building, as can be seen in pictures and a video was shared online by the local fire brigade. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. Nobody was injured, officials said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

WBTV contacted the authorities on Thursday, March 6, to update the fire examination. The fire brigade of Winston-Salem said that there was “no determination” to the extent of the damage, and the cause of the fire is “still” examined “.

A small gas line that was attached to the building was damaged during the fire but quickly switched off, the officials from our sister station Wfmy said.

Companies that are long connected to North Carolina

Garner Foods has been in the historic building in the city center since October 2018, according to the company. Garner Foods moved in and renovated the 14,500 square meter facility to update the almost centuries -old building.

Sam Garner created in 1929 with his sons in Winston-Salem Texas Pete. Since then, the sauce has been produced in the city of North Carolina.

Garner Foods remains a company even after more than 95 years.

In addition to Texas Pete, Garner Foods also produces several other sauces and Green Mountain Gringo Salsa.

Texas Pete is one of many legendary food brands that come alongside Pepsi, Cheerwine and Krispy Kreme in North Carolina.
