Extended observation forecast:

A storm with a high impact approaches the southern Colorado. The southwestern downslope wind will increase on Monday morning. Persistent winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour are expected, with gusts of 40 to 50 miles per hour in large parts of the southern Colorado. The humidity values drop to 10-13%. A fire weather warning from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. applies to almost southern Colorado, including downtown Colorado Springs and Pueblo. Avoid burning outdoors and all activities that sparks could create outside. Every fire that begins on Monday has the potential to spread quickly. The snow will continue in the central mountains – winter trips await you there, with gusty winds leading to low visibility.

If the low tracks are eastern in the evening, a cold front will cross the southern Colorado. This brings moisture into the area – and increases the wind speeds. This will weaken the fire threat, however, quickly leads to the next concern: to blow snow, which leads to problems of white out visibility, especially over the Palmer Divide, Teller County and the adjacent eastern levels. The precipitation type varies depending on the increase. This is a classic spring storm – it's not that cold. In Colorado Springs the rain changes to a mixture, then in snow. In Pueblo, the rain is mainly likely with a snow overnight. In Woodland Park and over the Palmer gap, everything will be snow and it will be difficult. Winter storm warnings are in force for N. El Paso County and Teller County from Monday from 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. While Southern El Paso County is currently not contained in winter weather warnings, they remain on future forecast updates. The trip will be difficult on Monday evening via the Palmer Divide and can be impassable on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday brings snow to everyone. The wind will be the most in the eastern levels, with 70 miles per hour possible. Snow will be the hardest in the Palmer Divide and Teller County mentioned above. In these areas, the conditions occur with these wind gusts when these wind gusts are snowing, the conditions that they cannot see. Even if it does not snow, these gusts of wind have the potential to reduce tree branches and cause other damage, and make driving extremely difficult and dangerous. You can mainly expect rain and wind in Pueblo, with a certain mix possible. In Canon City, lighter mixed rainfall and much lower wind are expected.

Due to the northern wind direction, which is expected with this storm, there will be a strong limit in the snow sums to the south. Snow sums of 8-12 “are possible via the Palmer gap. Places like Fountain and Fort Carson will be lucky enough to get 2”. Pueblo could get one centimeter. In this part of the forecast, there is a certain uncertainty in relation to the exact trace of the deep. If the low approximately 20 miles are moving further south than is currently expected, higher snow sums in the city center of Colorado Springs have an impact. The storm speed also determines the duration of the effects.

The harmful wind will be a threat region on Tuesday, apart from Canon City. High wind clocks are in force on Tuesday from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Persistent winds of 35 to 45 miles per hour are expected, gusts at 60 to 70 miles per hour. Bring light objects in Tuesday to prevent you from blowing up or blowing away.

The storm system will quickly follow out of the area on Tuesday evening – whereby the winds fall and clarify heaven.

Quiet conditions on Wednesday, another airy day on Thursday in front of another storm system on Friday. This system brings a cold front through the area, but looks weaker and lower than the system for the early week.
