Firefighters delete brush fire near St. David's North Austin Medical Center

The firefighters in Austin deleted a small brush fire near the North Austin Medical Center of St. David on Friday afternoon.

According to the X account, the Austin fire brigade reacted to a brush alarm at 2400 Park Bend Drive at around 3:38 p.m. The crews arrived to find a 20 x 20 foot brush fire in heavy trees.

Park Bend Road was temporarily closed, while firefighters fought against the fire.

Shortly after 4 p.m., the department reported that the crews had successfully deleted the fire and worked on wiping the remaining hotspots. Officials announced that the road would open again within 30 minutes.

The fire was near the Walnut Creek Trail System. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was not released immediately.
