Flames from Liberty University

Lynchburg, va. -The Liberty Women's Team Leads and the men's squad sits after an action-packed opening day of the 2025 Cusa Indoor Track & Field championships on Friday at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track in Liberty Indoor Track Complex.

The defending champion Lady Flames won two events, including Meredith Engle Record-suspect pentathlon efforts (meetings and program record 4.196 points) and Adelyn Fairley's Fourth career -Indoor 5K conference title (16: 50.39). Liberty took a total of 58 points through six events and put the Lady Flames 13 points in front of the second -placed FIU.

On the side of the men, the flames will make up for some on Saturday if they hope to extend their indoor conference championship championship to 28. The newcomer from Cusa, Kennesaw State, exceeded 53.5 to 34.5 during the five men on Friday. Kimes Kimes won the weight throw of men (68-7.75) in a dominant way Omari Lewis (6.65) broke his own program record during the 60 prelims of the men.

Engle had to classify the day in Pentathlon in 17th place in Pentathlon (a place from potentially qualification to the NCAA Division I Indoor Echtle -Athletics Championships) and had to break the record of Liberty Pentathlon for the third time this season to improve their national reputation.

Engle 'profit rating of 4,196 achieved exactly this with 65 points to take them to 12th place in the NCAA by the end of the day and give her a shot to become Liberty's first penthlet to reach NCAA division I.

Kimes (68-7.75) conquered the men's title with the men's weight throw in a dominant way and won the second-placed Jase Hunter from Kennesaw State by five feet. The redshirt is the first rookie to win this event at the Cusa -Meet (Charlottes Stevan Veselinovic) since 2016.

Benhases personal best 16-6.75 Pole Vault Clearance added his own Liberty Freshman Standard 1.25 inch and tied it with Simon Being the Kennesaw State for the second place in the event.

The final podium finish of the Flames came in the distance medley, like Dale HallPresent Revell WebsterPresent Kyle Thrush And Kyle Harkabus Tact 10: 10.71 for third place.

Due to an injury, Lewis had not disputed a 60-meter race before Friday throughout the season. The defending Cusa champion showed no signs of rust because its efforts of 6.65 put the fastest among the preliminaries and the Cusa winner time of 6.67 from 2024.
