Florida begins the second game with a hotly contested defeat against No. 2 Tennessee

This week there were two undefeated teams in College Baseball: No. 2 Tennessee and No. 5 Florida State, but the Gator were both in sight. In the first Matchup, No. 7 Florida (16-3) broke off the perfect profit series of the seminol on Wednesday.

In the second leg, UF traveled to Knoxville this weekend to face the reigning National Champions in the first second series of 2025. Thanks to Florida's work against the Seminols, No. 2 Tennessee Vols (18: 0) are the only NCAA team with an unbeaten recording in the series.

However, the Vols kept their victory on Friday with a 5: 3 victory. Florida will try to give an explanation on the street by winning the next two games of her first SEC series.

Sophomore Pitcher Liam Peterson made his fifth start of the season for Florida. In the course of the year so far, his main point of pride was the inability of the battery to beat Homer from him. Tennessee is the head of Division I in homes, but Peterson escaped homer -free again.

The Gators held up through the first four inner sings with a solo homerun by Junior Outfield Blake Cyr. On the other side of the ball, Peterson's eight strikes helped to manage the game.

A shaky start from Peterson in the fifth inning led Tennessee Senior Center Field Field Hunter Ensley hit a single with two runs. UF head coach Kevin O'Sullivan turned to the second right Luke McNellie. At the end of the fifth inning, the Gator stayed by three.

The Florida Native Brody Donay came through in the sixth inning at the right time, as he did this season. The designated striker collected eight Homeruns, and with the invited bases, this was a perfect opportunity to strike. Although he didn't have Homer, his two-run single brought the Gator back into one.

The left-handed junior pitcher Liam Doyle started, but after his pitch count 100 had reached, things began to slow down. The incumbent SEC pitcher of the week showed up well and only allowed one run with 3 goals, but gave his Bullpen space.

The head coach of Tennessee, Tony Vitello, went to the hill to bring Dylan Loy in the second year. It lasted 8 parking spaces before Vitello went on a further excursion to the bump and replaced Loy with Junior Nate Snead. The broadcast from Wichita State achieved four strikes in the last two innings.

When the Gators entered the last inning, they needed two runs to tie. With two outs, Junior Infieldder Justin Nadeaus Based -Hit brought the binding run onto the plate. However, it was not on the cards for the Gators when the Senior -Infield Bobby Boser looked.

Florida will again be the volunteer against the volunteers tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. ET. The third game of the series will be played on Sunday at 1 p.m. (ET).
