Florida Forestry Teachers Tour Applications open to educators until March 9th

Gainesville, Florida (WCJB) – Officials of the Florida Forest Service (FFS) said that educators all over the state still have time to apply for the Florida Forestry Teachers Tour in Florida.

The applications will be accepted by Sunday 9 March, and this year's annual tour is planned for June 17th to 20th.

According to FFS, future generations.

“The participants will immerse themselves in a wealth of diverse practical activities that combine their students with one of the most important natural resources of Florida,” said Rick Dolan, director of Florida Forest Service. “These teachers then take the lessons they learned to their own classrooms.”

The four -day event also receives Florida Teachers 30 further training units (CEU) and includes all aspects of the forest practices.

The participants visit tree farms to see tree plants and harvest and then visit a local wooden mill to learn how different wood products are made, as well as a selection of other activities and tours.

Educators of all subjects and grades throughout Florida are encouraged to apply here.

All accommodation, meals and tour transports are given to the teachers through the support of private partners and sponsors, including the Florida Forestry Association, the Florida Project Learning Tree, and the friends of FFS officials for the support of private partners and sponsors, including the Florida Forestry Association.
