Florida Gymnastics achieved three 100s in victory against Kentucky

The team in Florida Gymnastics achieved a big victory on Friday evening with the defeated of No. 10 Kentucky 198,625-197.725. In the senior night meeting in the O'Connell Center, the No. 3 Gators achieved the highest team assessment in the country and their second highest score in the program history this year.

Three perfect 10s, several career bests and a national all-round game were highlights of the night.

Florida rises

The Gators led from the start. Florida achieved the highest event score of the season on the safe and put on 49.7. In her last home meeting in the regular season, Victoria Nguyen Victoria Nguyen achieved 9.95. Sophomore Danie Ferris recorded the first 10.0 of her college career and Selena Harris-Miranda came close to a 9,975.

Senior Riley McCusker ended her home career with a fall on the bars. However, her teammates appeared when she needed her. Harris-Miranda scored a 9.95. Alyssa Arana ended the rotation with a career high of 9.95 and gave the Gator the second highest bar score of the season (49.55).

On the beam, Skylar drazer and Anya Pilgrim performed with a 9.9 or 9.925. Senior Leanne Wong scored a 9.95. Harris-Miranda glowed the Exactech Arena with a 10.0 on Beam, the first on the apparatus in her career, which she said was a goal when she came to Florida.

Freshman Skye Blakely entered the exhibition location and returned less than a year ago since the tear of her Achilles injury. Coach Jenny Rowland said that she was thrilled to perform her again at the event.


Nguyen performed with a 9,925 from the Gators to best connect their career. The newcomer Taylor Clark achieved a career high of 9.95 before Wong scored a perfect 10. Harris-Miranda and Ferris followed with a 9.95 or 9.9. Florida defeated his season with a full tenth on the floor and closed the senior night with a 49.725.

Kentucky achieved great

The Wildcats scored their highest street of the year after a 197,925 season against Arkansas last week.

The rod rotation was highlighted in the fifth year with a 9,925 Hailey Davis, which contributed to the team of 49.3. Kentucky could not stuck a single vault, but still achieved a 49,375 on the apparatus.

After the Wildcats achieved the second highest score in the program history (49.725) against Arkansas last week, they achieved a 49.475. Three points of 9.925 from Skylar Killough-Wilhelm, Creslyn Brose and Davis closed the apparatus.

Kentucky scored his highest score of the year on Beam. A 49.575 consisted of five points over 9.9. The second brose led her team to the apparatus with a 9.95.

All-round dominance

Harris-Miranda achieved a 39.875 in the all-round competition. This would surpass the country's highest all-round score by 0.05, which was previously held by Olympic Jade Carey (Oregon State).

Wong ended her time in O'Dome with a second place and scored 39.725. Killough-Wilhelm was 39.6 third. With an exhibition on the ground, Pilgrim has been performing for the first time in all four events since February 7th.

A nice farewell

The Gators honored eight in this year's senior night presentation.

Sloane Blakely, Bri Edwards, McCusker and Wong and fifth years, Ellie Lazzari and Nguyen, were recognized. The student manager wants Gomez and the photographer and former Florida Gymnast Morgan Hurd were also honored.

After a long, emotional night, Wong reflected on her last equipment in the O'Dome:

Gator Great Trinity Thomas was in the house to surprise her former teammates on her big night.
