Florida Panthers acquire striker Nico Sturm

Sunrise, Fla.-The President of Florida Panthers from Hockey Operations & General Bill Zitoannoun has today that the club striker Nico Sturm and a selection of the Seventh round 2027 from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for Floridas 2026 in the fourth round in Florida.

Sturm, 29, appeared in 47 games with the San Jose Sharks in 2024-25 13 points (7-6-13). His percentage of 62.7% against the profit of 62.7% leads to all NHL skators with at least 250 draw this season.

The 6-foot 3, 209 pound tribe from Augsburg, Germany, is in 316 career-NHL games with San Jose (2022-23 to 2024-25), the Colorado Avalanche (2021-22) and Minnesota Wild (2018-19 to 2021-22), set 91 points (46-45-91). In 2023-24 he achieved a percentage of 60.1% of a result of a prime result and led all Nhler who had achieved at least 800 draws in 2023-24, and in each of his last five seasons achieved a percentage of over 50%, including 2024-25.

Sturm drove in 22 career Stanley Cup Playoff games between Colorado and Minnesota and helped the Avalanche to catch the Stanley Cup in 2021-22 with two templates over 13 games and skate against the Tampa Bay Lightning in all six final games of the Stanley Cup.

Unrafted played in three NCAA play times (2016-17 to 2018-19) with Clarkson University in 118 games with 103 points (36-67-103). In his third campaign, he served as captain of Clarkson and led the Golden Knights to an ECAC tournament championship and was included in the ECAC First All-Star team and the first All-American team of the NCAA. He also played with the Tri-City Storm of the Ushl in a season (2015-16) and recorded 39 points (14-25-39) in 57 games that help the storm to conquer the Clark Cup.

Sturm received a silver medal with Germany on the international stage at the IIHF World Championship 2023 and produced eight points over 10 tournament games (6-2-8). He also represented his home country at the IIHF World Cup 2024 and 2015 U20 World Junior Championship.
