Florida Poly promotes the former legislator Kelli Stargel for a new VP role

Florida Polytechnic University has promoted Senator Kelli Stargel's former senator for strategic initiatives, development and external relationships.

Florida Poly hired Stargel in February 2023 as Associate Vice President for Strategic Relations.

Stargel will continue to manage strategic relationships and initiatives with a focus on partnerships at local, state and national level, the school said in a press release. It will also be the Florida Polytechnic University Foundation, a non -profit organization, which is devoted to the support of the school's mission by commitment the community, securing investments and the administration of financial resources.

Kathy Bowman retired at the end of last year as Vice President of Advancement and CEO of the University Foundation. Stargel receives an annual content of 220,000 US dollars, said school spokesman Lydia Guzman.

“I love this university – it is one of the reasons why I worked here,” said Stargel in the publication. “I am on board with the Florida Poly Vision from the start, so it is exciting to further promote this in a different role. I like to work with companies to get involved and I look forward to the challenge. “

Before Stargel came to Florida Poly, he was in the Senate in Florida for 10 years after two times in the Florida House.

“Kelli Stargel's deep understanding of the legislative and business landscape in Florida in combination with its strong commitment to university formation makes her ideal to conduct the strategic initiatives and the development of Florida Poly,” said Devin Stephenson, President of Florida Poly, in the press release. “Your experience and vision will strengthen our external partnerships and improve the ability of the university to secure important resources for continuing growth and innovation.”

According to Stargel, there will be a significant priority in strengthening both consciousness and investments. This will help the university to build essential institutions such as their planned performance center for students and more living space for students, the press release says.
