Former Illinois Football Offensive Lineman Re-Up with the Chicago Bears

There are Illinois football players who are scattered in the NFL and some even play in their own garden.

The Illini, especially since Bret Bielema took over, made numerous players in the NFL. The talent can take place in the form of draft picks in the first round like Devon Witherspoon. Some were collapsed late in the process. Others have registered through the free agency.

In the case of Doug Kramer, he was collected by the Chicago Bears in 2022. On Tuesday afternoon, the bears published a press release in which he had signed Kramer for a new one -year contract.

Kramer has been a reliable player for Chicago in the past few years. In the first year he went with an injury in his lower leg, which brought him out for the season. Kramer then saw action in two games in 2023. Last season he played in all 16 games for the bears.

Doug Kramer will be part of a repeating Chicago Bears franchise

It is exciting that Kramer is back with the bears. He signed his rookie deal in 2022. Kramer then signed a one-year deal for $ 915,000 in 2024. He is now back with the bears for another one -year contract in 2025, but the money was not published.

I can imagine that Kramer is excited to be back with the bears. Chicago has done a lot of work in the offseason building around the quarterback Caleb Williams, and most of this work has come into the offensive line.

The bears signed the Dalman center for a three -year contract. We also exchanged the offensive lineman Joe Thuney and the offensive lineman of Los Angeles Rams, Jonah Jackson, for the offensive lineman of Kansas City. Together with the return of Kramer, these three additions should help stabilize an offensive line with Bears that has been struggling for years. Something special happens in Chicago.
