Former rookie of the year, ex-tiger, published by Mariners

Detroit – It seems that Neftali Feliz 'comeback story will have a happy ending.

The ex-Detroit Tiger and the OneTime American League Rookie of the Year was released this week by the Seattle Mariners.

Feliz saved 40 games for the Texas Rangers in 2010 and excluded the Tigers outfield Austin Jackson to win the rookie of the American League of the year.

Feliz was originally signed by the Atlanta Braves from the Dominican Republic and was traded as part of the deal to the Rangers in 2007, which Mark Teixeira sent to Atlanta. He gave his MLB debut in 2009 and achieved an ERA of 1.74 in 20 appearances. He became closer to the Rangers the following season and was appointed as an all-star on the way to a rookie record for parades. (Craig Kimbrel exceeded the 2011 brand with 46 parades).

Feliz played a key role in the successive appearances of the Rangers in 2010 and 2011. He completed the Alcs 2010 and earned himself in game 3 of the World Series. As is known, he came in a strike next year to win a championship in game 6 against the St. Louis Cardinals before allowed David Freese a triple triple.

After the Rangers were moved to the starting trotation in 2012, injuries derailed his career. He missed most of the 2012 and 2013 after he had undergone Tommy John Operation and fought for further injuries in 2014 and 2015 before he was released by Texas.

His short Tigers office was unforgettable when he fought a 7.62 ERA over 28 innings. After Detroit, he had stays with the pirates, brewers, royals, Phillies and Dodgers.

Most recently, Feliz threw in the Mexican league from 2022 to 2024, where he was excellent and achieved 79 parades in several teams.

His comeback attempt with the Mariners came almost 15 years after having broken into the league for the first time as one of the most dominant young helpers in the game.

Feliz, who turned 37 in May, threw well enough this spring so that he could earn a chance of chance for Minor League with another team, but it is also possible that he will return for a fourth season in Mexico.
