Four BIG 12 records, which were broken as Texas Tech and Byu Lead Day of the first by Big 12 ITF championship

Lubbock, Texas -On the opening day of the BIG 12 Indoor Echtache Championship 2025, four BIG 12 records fell when the Texas Tech Men and BYU Women claimed the leadership in the team classification.

After five events were completed on the team, Texas Tech collected 33 points to sit on the overall ranking. BYU is in second place with 29 points, Kansas and Oklahoma State took third place with 28 points, and Arizona rounded off the top 5 teams with 20.5 points.

The BYU women took second place with 36 points with Baylor with 30 points. The connections between Osu and West Virginia with 22 points and Cincinnati and Ku -Tary round up 19 points after six events the top 5 teams on the women's site.

BYU took the 5,000 meters on both sides when Lexy Halladay-Lowry claimed the women's title with a time of 15: 32.52, while Casey Cler won the men's title with a meet record of 13: 29.61. He defeated a 12-year record that was 13: 41.01.

The cowboys secured two titles when the distance medley relay team with the second fastest period of the championship of 9: 30.88 claimed their fifth episode, together with Blair Anderson, who claimed the first Big 12-Weitprung title of the program with a jump of 7.62 meters.

West Virginia defended her DMR title as Ceili McCabe anchored the mountaineers and crossed the finish line with a record time of 11: 09.42. Her time squeaked after tenths of a second to break the time of 11: 09.67 from OSU in 2011.

Cincinnatis Juliette Laracuente-Huebner earned 10 points for the Bearcats after winning the women's pentathlon with a total of 4,182 points.

The Baylor women collected two field events on Friday. Molly Haywood won a stabilight in the women's vault of women after clarifying a meeting with the best 4.56 meters to become the second Baylor woman in a row that the event won. Alexis Brown, the 2024 BIG 12 Outdoor -Wait jumping champion, received another conference title when she jumped 6.71 meters in the long jump to get the interior. Brown is the first Baylor athlete to win both long jump titles for women.

Shelby Frank from TTU secured women's weight when her second throw of 23.32 meters brought her the gold medal and set up a meet record. On the men's side, Gary Moore Jr. from K-State called for his first Big 12 title with a throw of 22.67 meters.

The campaign on Friday ended with a duel between Jayhawks, who fought for the gold medal in the men's pole vault. Clayton Simms defended his title by successfully solving 5.61 meters during his third attempt.
