Friend of Aldine HS Student who were killed when shooting

Houston -KPRC 2 learned the identity of 17-year-old Aldine High School, who was killed in a shootout last week. His name was Irwan Paez.

The shootout took place opposite the Aldine High School in the McDonald's parking lot.

On Sunday, the relatives continued to drop flowers, candles and balloons in a temporary monument in which Paez was killed.

The Houston police authorities said Paez was killed when a group of teenagers with a group of people in a Red Dodge pick-up got into an argument. They said someone inside fired a shot and beat and killed Paez. The truck left the scene.

“I always looked at him like my little brother,” said Issac Duran, a senior at the Aldine High School.

Duran tells KPRC 2 that he comes by the provisional monument every day to say goodbye to his late friend.

“I miss him,” said Duran. “We did a lot of things together.”

Some of Paez's favorite items were also left in the monument, including a boxing glove. Duran tells KPRC 2, Paez enjoyed boxing as a hobby.

“I knew he would have a brilliant future,” said Duran. “He was an innocent boy. He was loved by everyone. “

Three people were initially arrested after the shootout. However, no fees were collected at this point.

This shootout has been one of several violent crimes in Aldine in the last few days. There was also a shootout on Friday evening when a person was taken to the hospital. On Sunday morning there was a stab and attack in the Aldine Apartments, which led to a mother and daughter being charged with the teenage age.

Friends of Paez said that a balloon release will take place on Monday.
