Gypsy-rose grew up by the single mother Claudine “Dee Dee Dee Dee” Blanchard and spent decades that she was seriously ill.

In reality, Dee Dee abused her daughter, fed gypsy rose medication that gave her terrible side effects and imitated the symptoms of different diseases.

“In the end there was not a single part of my body that was supposedly wrong,” said Gypsy rose.

Dee Dee limited for years to a wheelchair and forced it to subject dozens of unnecessary medical interventions – including the inserting of a feeding pipe.

If you had ever been suspected or asked questions, Dee Dee would move hospitals and even cities to maintain the trick.

“I knew I could go. I knew I could eat, so I didn't need the feeding tube,” said Gypsy-rose.

“But you can't see the other things like cancer.”

Professor Beatrice York, one of the leading America's leading experts in child abuse, believes that Dee Dee suffered from a rare mental disorder called Munchhaus syndrome from proxy.

“The Munchhausen syndrome is a disease in which someone is sick to receive medical help,” said Professor Yorker.

“If it is the Munchhausen syndrome of Proxy or Munchhausen through proxymic abuse instead of getting sick, make your child sick or depending on your care to receive medical help.”

She says that it was alarming for Dee Dee to deceive doctors because “they are trained to rely on the patient's medical history or the patient's parent”.

When Gypsy-rose reached her early 1920s, she wanted to be desperately free, but said it was not as easy to go away.

Instead, she decided that her agony was only ended by violence.

“I tried to exhaust all the options that I thought they were available to me,” she said.

With the help of Nicholas Godejohn, a friend she met online in 2012, Gypsy-Rose slipped a terrible but simple plan.

In the night of June 9, 2015, Nicholas Dee dee dee 17 times when she slept in her house in Missouri while gypsy rose hid in the bathroom.

“I can honestly say that I would never have committed this crime if I hadn't been pushed to the edge where I really only caught,” she said.

Nicholas was imprisoned for a lifetime for a lifetime, while Gypsy-rose guilty due to murder's second degree and received a 10-year sentence.

It was finally released in December 2023, eight and a half years after her prison sentence and remains on probation.

Their case continues to fascinate the world and cause both outrage and sympathy, but gypsy-rose refuses to dictate the past of its future.

The now 33-year-old has found new love for Ken Urker-a pencil buddy from her time in prison and recently gave birth to her daughter Aurora.

“I'm not afraid to become a mother. I never did it,” she said.

Gypsy-rose knows that at some point she has to tell her little girl what happened to her grandmother, but is determined to face the truth head.

“I will always be honest with her. Ken and I will both sit down, have a conversation from the family, and we will let her know what happened,” she said.

“My will to be a better mother than my mother is so strong that I will not continue the cycle.”
