From start to double -digit digits with Icargo

The Mediterranean Redering Company (MSC) has expanded its presence in the air freight sector and increased its fleet from zero to five aircraft in 21 months. The company started MSC Air Cargo in October 2022 to strengthen its global logistics network via street, rail, air and sea.

A current case study by IBS software entitled “Like MSC Air Cargo from Start-up to double-digit growth with Icargo'Details, the MSC expansion in the air freight and the role of technology in supporting its rapid growth.

MSC operates over 300 trade routes and operates more than 520 ports. The company needed a flexible freight management system that scale with growth, adapt to complex operations and make it easier to recruit talents. The company required the lack of an existing technology frame to build everything from scratch, while aircraft already operated.

Manual processes generated inefficiencies and complexity, which is required for an integrated system. MSC was looking for an experienced partner to use its core system quickly and at the same time improve the value creation functionality, while the company developed and expanded.

To deal with these challenges, MSC Air Cargo worked with IBS software and implemented the ICARGO platform. IBS software has provided a phase -friendly implementation approach that launched the minimally viable product (MVP) in five weeks. MSC Air Cargo decided after a thorough analysis of the requirements for ICARGO from IBS Software for its freight management platform.

The company trusted IBS software, the ability to implement the platform quickly and effectively in view of its proven results in other parts of the business. The IBS software has used an agile implementation method that worked closely with MSC teams to meet their unique requirements. The company focused on essential functions for the initial go-live and defined a roadmap for future module improvements.

In 2024, MSC Air Cargo Aliscargo acquired and introduced street supply services and pharmaceutical products. The introduction of Icargo supported freight handling, network orientation and scalability. The company has implemented a modern, customizable freight management platform based on the latest technologies and offers flexibility with increasing business and at the same time avoided the disadvantages of the old applications of competitors.

MSC Air Cargo continues to expand its operation with digital tools to introduce new services and manage its network.
