McDowell, a 40-year-old veteran with two career cup series, is now a seven-time polesitter during his 18-year career as an 18-year-old Cup series.

With a big smile on the face, McDowell discussed his performance during an interview after the qualification and gave his Spire Motorsports team a lot of recognition:

Ryan Blaney, who won the point of the Nascar Cup series in 2023 and took second place last year, was the only driver who had no qualification run.

He fell against the wall during the training, which means that he will start on Sunday at the 36th and last place:

Christopher Bell, who has been second in the Cup series this season, qualified on Saturday on the 13th ..

Bell enters the race on Sunday as a driver he was able to defeat since he won three races in a row, and is and has been the first driver of the Nascar Cup series since Kyle Larson in 2021.

When Bell wins a fourth race in a row on Sunday, he will be the first driver since Jimmie Johnson in 2007.

Several experienced drivers on the field on Sunday have several career victories in Las Vegas and they could also be significant factors.

Logano is a four-time vegas winner, while Brad Keselowski (qualified 27th) and Larson (qualified 10th) each won three times on the route.

Logano and Larson are particularly large threats, since there have been two victories in Las Vegas in Las Vegas since 2022. Other winners are William Byron (qualified eighth) in 2023 and Alex Bowman (qualified sixth) in 2022.

While he is looking for a fourth victory in a row, Bell has to conquer a route on which he has had many ups and downs over the years.

In 10 Career Cup series begins in Las Vegas, Bell has recorded three top 5 surfaces and five top 10 results, but it has an average finish of only 17.4.

The Pennzoil 400 will start on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET and broadcast on FS1.
