GA man in a critical state after shooting the officer

Clayton Co – A man from Georgia is in a critical condition after he was involved in an officer shooting during an attempt to arrest.

At the request of the Clayton County police authority, the GBI agents examine an official with shots. During the incident, Daniel Neal, 21 years old, was shot and injured from Jonesboro, GA. An officer was also shot during the incident.

Preliminary information shows that on February 25, 2025 at 5:45 p.m., the MPs of the Sheriff of Clayton County tried to arrest Neal because of a recently difficult attack. Neal started with a car and the MPs followed him to a house on the Summer Chase Drive, in which the MPs of the sheriff of Neal and Clayton County started. The Swat officials of Clayton County reacted to the scene and tried to make Neal to hand over, but Neal did not correspond. A few hours later, the officers entered the house to look for Neal. Neal came out of a hiding place and shot officers. Officers returned fire and met Neal several times. An officer was shot during the incident. The officials provided Neal and the wounded officer and both were taken to a local hospital for treatment. The official is listed in a stable state and Neal is listed in a critical condition.

The GBI will carry out an independent examination. As soon as the case has been completed, the case is handed over to the District Prosecutor's Office of Clayton for checking.
