The school district said that the headmaster visited Carranza's class on January 30th. The class discussed the topic of immigration and customs authorities, which carried out arrests throughout the district.

In the explanation, superintendent Desmontes Stewart did not say why the topic was discussed or whether it was part of the approved curriculum, but Carranza told her headmaster that a student in her school bus had made comments on ice and deportation to a group of Hispanic students.

The next day, a bus driver confirmed the incident and informed the administrators that the remarks were addressed to a group of Hispanic students and that Carranza was not sitting with the group, but was within hearing width. During the examination it was found that it happened more than once.

The district said that he examined and the student who made the comments was immediately disciplined and Carranza seems to have a “positive rest of the week”.

On February 4, the district was informed by a family member that Carranza had been taken to the hospital due to an accident. She died in the hospital a few days later.

Gainesville ISD said that the students had reported Carranza after their death and their brother had been bullied. The district said an investigation began on February 6th.

The district said that the investigation of the bullying was completed on February 12 and a student was disciplined. Gainesville ISD said that the information was shared with Carranza's mother.

The district announced that several students said during the interviews for bullying examination that Carranza was not only a victim of bullying, but that she trusted that she “had been touched inappropriately by a family member”, but asked her not to say anything.

The district said because there are four other children in school in the house, Gainesville ISD had to report to CPS by law, which the district gave. The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services announced NBC 5 that CPS cases were confidential under state law and could not confirm an investigation.

After her death, the district said that he had learned that Carranza had shared thoughts of self -harm with a cousin who allegedly told Carranza's mother, but this information was never shared to the district that would have provided resources and interventions.

The district said in a one -on -one conversation with a school consultant in October, Carranza shared that they got into trouble at home and that her siblings called her names, but she never said anything that she was bullied at that time.

Carranza's mother claims that she has never been informed that her daughter applied for advice or that she was part of a group to help with the skills.

The statement was published on Wednesday that the group of social-emotional learning (SEL), headed by a school advisor, helped to help Carranza and four other students with coping strategies to manage distress emotions. The group met twice in October, twice in November and three times in January, according to the district.

The district said that Carranza's mother had signed a permit for her to take part. Carranza's mother asks to see the document.

Stewart's statement ends:

“Gainesville ISD takes the security and well -being of all students, faculties and employees very seriously.

We are still obliged to cope with the concerns quickly and consistently. As a reminder, when a student sees, we ask or believe that a fellow student may need support to immediately draw an employee or administrator so that suitable resources can be provided. “

NBC 5 turned to Carranza's mother about the report published on Wednesday. She told NBC 5 “” I would rather not talk about it. I have a lawyer with whom I will talk about this case. “
