Gainesville ISD shares the knowledge to investigate the 11-year-old student's suicide

Gainesville, Texas (KXII) – The examination came after alleged bullying of classmates who threatened to name their family “ice”.

The district said that he first made himself aware of on January 30 when Jocelynn Carranza informed the administrators that a student took a group of Hispanic students on the bus and deportation. The next day, the transport director of the district confirmed that these comments were made to a group of Hispanic students with whom Jocelynn did not sit, but close enough to hear them, and that it was not the first time that it had happened.

GISD said that the student identified, interviewed and disciplined the next day. Afterwards GISD found that Jocelynn seemed to have a positive week and took part in a birthday party this Saturday. Witnesses said she had performed in a good mood and enjoyed the event.

On February 4, GISD said that they were informed that Jocelynn had been taken to the hospital “due to an accident”. The next day, the students reported that Jocelynn had been bullied and that an examination was initiated the following day.

The students told the investigators of the districts, Jocelynn, told them that they had been inappropriately touched by a family member she wanted to keep a secret to avoid having difficulty. Because of other children in the apartment, GISD said that they were legally obliged to report this CPS that is now being examined.

The investigation also showed that Jocelynn had previously expressed a relative about self -harm who informed her mother. Information that the district said was never shared with them.

The report continues that Jocelynn has been in emotional advice since October, with a permission slide being signed by her mother.

GISD said they will continue to support the Jocelynn family.

News 12 will follow all new developments closely.
